Information We Collect
We collect the email address you provide when subscribing, basic analytics about how you use the site, and — for members — billing information processed by our payment provider. We do not sell personal data.
How We Use Information
To deliver the newsletter and member benefits you signed up for, to improve our reporting and product, to communicate operational changes, and to comply with legal obligations.
Cookies & Analytics
We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which stories resonate. A first-party 'visitor' cookie is set on first visit to group your activity within a session. You can opt out of non-essential cookies in your browser settings.
Coarse Location
When you submit a form (testimonial, newsletter sign-up, survey, purchase) we record a coarse location — country, region, and city — derived from privacy-respecting analytics. We never store your IP address, GPS coordinates, or postal code alongside the event.
Affiliate & Referral Tracking
If you arrive via an affiliate or partner link (a URL containing '?ref='), we set a first-party 'ref' cookie that lets us attribute later sign-ups or purchases to that affiliate. The cookie is HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax, and expires after the affiliate's configured window (default 30 days). It does not track you across other websites.
Sharing
We share data only with service providers (email delivery, payments, hosting, analytics, CRM) under contract, and when legally required. We do not sell your data to advertisers.
Your Rights
You may request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data at any time. EU/UK and California residents have additional rights under GDPR and CCPA.
Data Retention
We retain account data while your account is active and for a reasonable period after closure to meet legal and accounting requirements. Fine-grained attribution and geo data attached to engagement events are purged on a rolling 90-day window.
Children
VVM is intended for readers 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.
